1800 hour BARBER

TUITION: $12,800

Anyone without a current barber or cosmetology license is eligible for this program. Before taking the barber license exam, the Ohio State Cosmetology and Barber Board mandates the completion of an 1800-hour course.

1000 hour CROSSOVER

TUITION: $7,500

(Licensed Ohio Cosmetologist Only) In this program, students holding an active cosmetology license are welcome to enroll to master barbering skills and take their hairstyling licensure to the next professional level.

500 hour student barber

TUITION: $3,500

Barbers holding an active Ohio State Barber License and aspiring to become licensed instructors will acquire the essential tools to educate future barbers through this 500-hour student barber training program.

Tuition price includes all tools, books, examination fees, registration fees and licensing fees. We also offer in-house, interest-free financing.

DESCRIPTION & CURRICULUM OUTLINE

Our 1800-hour and 1000-hour barber programs provide aspiring barbers with the education and training needed to become licensed professionals. Combining classroom instruction with hands-on training, students practice their skills under experienced instructors and, upon completion and meeting state requirements, can pursue careers or open their own businesses. The programs cover a range of topics, including:

  • Students will learn and practice the fundamental barbering techniques, including haircutting, shaving, beard trimming, coloring, chemical texture, services, and styling.

  • Students will learn to identify and work with different hair types, textures, and growth patterns to provide tailored services to clients.

  • Classes will emphasize the importance of proper sanitation, hygiene, and safety procedures to protect both the client and the barber.

  • Students will learn about various barbering products, such as grooming tools, hair products, and skincare items, and how to use them effectively.

  • Students will learn to provide excellent customer service, including communication, client consultation, and building positive relationships with clients.

  • Classes on business management will provide knowledge on the basics of running a barbering business, including scheduling, pricing, marketing, and record-keeping.

  • Students will be taught the requirements for the state board licensing exam both written and practical portions. 

  • Students will be encouraged to stay updated with the latest trends in barbering and develop their creative skills in creating unique styles.

  • Students will learn ethical conduct, professionalism, and confidentiality when dealing with clients and their personal information.

  • Students will learn to foster a commitment to ongoing learning and skill development in the field of barbering.
